COLARP is supporting local governments to conduct land context mapping, as well as risk-Sensitive land use planning under the ILC supported NES program. This year, aligning with the objective of Land Issue Resolving Commission (LIRC) COLARP is assisting Gauriganga Municipality, Kailali, Sudhurpaschim Province in collecting and validating the data of Landless Dalits Landless Squatter, and Informal Settlers to provide land ownership to the actual tenant. Therefore, as one of the activities of assistance to collect the data, COLARP assisted the municipality to conduct “Interaction and orientation program to representatives from municipal, ward and land issue facilitation committee”.

The 2-day training was organized at the municipal hall on 27th and 28th December 2020. The Major objectives of the enumerator training were:

  1. To inform about the objective of the survey, municipal, ward, and land issue-resolving commission role, and responsibility.
  2. To develop local-level capacity by strengthening the knowledge about identifying and validating the Landless Dalits Landless Squatter, and Informal Settlers.
  3. To familiarize all questions of the questionnaires (3 sets) and clarify the confusion.
